Evaluation 7

For our media project a two minute trailor had to be created.

When producing our preliminary task we were quiet new to all of the camera shots needed to be shot and which are used very well in real media products. Therefore we had to research around the shots and look at what needed to be included within our task. We then became familiar to all of camera shots which were needed and known for being in media products. These are the 180 degree rule, shot/reverse shot and the match on action shot.

This picture shows how a shot/reverse shot would look like when filmed and the position of the camera places. The Shot Reverse Shot is A film technique where one character is shown looking at another character , and then the other character is shown looking back at the first character. Since the characters are shown facing in opposite directions, the viewer assumes that they are looking at each other

180 degree rule- The 180° rule is a basic guideline in film making that states that two characters  in the same scene should always have the same left/right relationship to each other. If the camera passes over the imaginary axis connecting the two subjects, it is called crossing the line.

Match on Action shot- A match on action shot is when some action occurring before the temporarily questionable cut is picked up where the cut left it by the shot immediately following. For example a person walking through a door. the first shot is a long shot of the subject walking throught the door, and using match on action shot, we place the camera inside that room to show the subject walking into the room through the door.

Evaluation 6

Throughout producing the media project I have learnt many things about different technologies which we have used and and i have learnt how they are used and how to construct media products.
The technologies we used in order to create our product were:

Blogger
Camcorder
Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0
YouTube
Paint
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Word
Computers/Internet

We used  a Camcorder in order to film our project. We learnt how to use the camcorder properly and how to shoot the camera angles needed correctly and safely in order to get the right shots and effects needed.

Premier elements pro 7.0 helped to develop my editing skills and through using this programme I had to overcome issues when using the software in order to produce a successful project. This enables the group to add certain and important effects and to allow the film to flow smoothly and create credits.

Blogger is the website where we created weekly blogs inn which our progress and the work we had done was recorded and broadcasted. This allowed me to format and edit blogs and keep them in a order so i knew what i had done and when.

We used YouTube greatly to help us create a successful blog. We used YouTube at the beginning of our project to find video comparisons for our deconstructions which relate to our chosen genre. And we managed to find some that were suitable to compare to our chosen genre and different types of genres. We also used YouTube to make our project known to worldwide audiences to allow feedback to be given, and help us for the future.

I used Microsoft excel and Microsoft word to create the graphs for the results of our questionnaires. This was a very easy and quick way of producing the graphs successfully in order for them to be placed on my blog correctly and clearly.

Evaluation 5

To begin with, we started by handing out 20 questionnaires to find out abit about our audience and what they liked. We then gathered all the other information from the questionnaire until we came to an aggreement of what we wanted but also of what the audience may want. We then changed it to satisfy us and the audience.

We then researched about what our aged audience wanted in a drama film and found out alot of evidence which could be used within our drama film. Our research then became a big part of our piece as we found out more information in which we then included.

Also we could link our film to another film like Adulthood which is well known, this became easy to then get more people to view our information and gave us more of a wider range of research to include into our piece. In the end, our piece came from the audience as it was everything they asked for and what they believed would be a good piece.

The group was able to address our audience by exporting our opening scene into a movie file on our software, this then was uploaded onto a website called Youtube. Once our opening scene was on Youtube we could then share our product with others by using a URL. This allowed many people watch and comment on our opening piece.

Evaluation 4

This is an example of what our target audience will look like, he is the same age as the group who have filmed the piece and he watched the film closely then filled out an audience feedback questionnaire. Whilst being the age that he is, this gives us the advantage that we can then show him footage which could not be shown to people under the age of 15. And he is the perfect age to relate and give the group any ideas of improvements or negative or positive points to the piece.

Evaluation 3

A production company is responsible for the developmennt and the physical production of the film, out and onto the shelves. Usually the producers of the film sorts out the next stage and where the film will go within the future. Usually, a budget is needed and fortunately we had a budget for our project but this was a very low amount of money compared to the movies nowadays. Although, most of the props and costumes used were already owned by a member of the group and was not needed to be purchased.

Researching into the coventions of media nowadays, our film may be distributed by a big company judging by our genres it follows the key elements that is needed from a drama film. Things like violence and alcohol helped create the sense of the genre being drama. In order to promote our film we will need to use something called 'viral marketing' so that our film will get well known. 'Viral marketing' is the way that producers accidentally release screen shots or pictures/ clips of their film in oredr to promote it so that it will beome more well known before even being released.

Competing films if we were to produce our film:

Kidulthood
Adulthood

Blogspot has already helped promote our movie. By uploading all our work and clips onto our blogs, anyone can view it and this will then allow them to then follow us. Due to them following us, any new information or even any new movies we deide to make will come up on the followers wall and then they will be able to view the next film. They may then tell other people about it, and eventually the film will become more popular and recognised.

Evaluation 2

My media product represents the sociol group of gangs and thugs, also people who are not having a good time in life.

The person and character i have chosen to select from my opening piece is Logan Downes as he is one of the main characters and is seen alot by the audience. This is also good comparing him as he is shown as a typical thuggish boy. Being in the film alot enables the audience to make a judgement of the character.
I have chosen the main character out of 'Kidulthood' to compare with Logan. This is because they relate in the way in which their character acts and what sort of style used.

Costume: In the terms of costume, they are both wearing similar and typical thuggish clothes, hood, jeans etc, which they would wear in everyday life. They are wearing this as they are just living their normal day lifes and dont expect the happenings to happen in which they do. This also makes it realistic.

Role with the film: This is wierd as both characters roles are ver similar. With in our film Logan is the enemy of everyone else and just wants to fight to resolve problems and hurt other people. This is similar to Kidulthood as also the main character shown above is an emeny of everyone who knows him and he also looks for fights and bullying to resolve problems and people.

Overall: The characters are very similar and portrayed by the audience in the same way, they wear the same clothes and have the same style of talking walking and acting.
