Examples of a Drama

Examples of this type of Drama are Adulthood and SHANK, pictures shown above the text, but many more exist. They both involve sex, drugs and violence and this is seen as an exciting and good movies because of the happenings in the programmes. Most of the audience, know that this is not a typical place in society but it is like this is some places, these movies show how it occurs and what happens in some areas of the country. These movies are rated at least a 16+, this is because at this age you are more aware of what is going on in society and with this aged rating it eliminates any potential young audience to be disturbed or scared by what they are watching.

Details on Media Task

The group in which I will be working in consists of myself (Nicholas Pitcher), Daniel Berridge, Duncan Anderson and Jamie Cole. We Chose this group as we feel that we have a good relationship and believe we can all contribute a certain skill into the task, making the final outcome effective. It will also be easy for our group to meet up and work on the task out of school. We have chosen the genre of Drama, this is because Drama is becoming a more popular and upcoming type of genre now a days. Meaning there is more films that we have recently become more familiar with. This gives us more ideas for our task as we are familiar with Drama and this allow us to produce the right kind of end product.

A Drama consists of
  • Simple good and bad characters
  • All tell a story
  • If sequels happen, the ending is normally left on a cliffhanger to encourage viewers to watch next time the programmes on.
  • Certain shot and shot sequence types are used
  • Music is used to create the scene, action and create effects
  • Dialogues and occasionally monologues are used to tell parts of the story (usually the start or ending)
